About Us

How We Practice

Our clinic is a labor of love and we hope it shows! This hospital was designed to create a safe space for our patients where they can feel comfortable.

While veterinary visits can be a stressful experience for a lot of pets, there are many ways we try to minimize fear:

Longer appointment times Judicious use of anxiolytics No dog/cat interactions Carrier training for cats Non-slip surfaces and yoga mats Placing pheromone diffusers Minimizing reflective surfaces Reading our patient’s body language Recognizing subtle signs of fear Lots of treats! Muzzle training for dogs Avoiding direct eye contact Prioritizing what needs to be done

Emergency vet Fontvieille – La Petite Clinique
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Lara Janowski

Originally from Monaco, I left my small country at the age of 17 to pursue the first half of my studies at the University of California, Davis, in the United States, where I graduated in Animal Science. That is where I met my work partner, George, and where our dream of opening a veterinary clinic together was born. We chose Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine in the United States for the next stage of our studies, where we earned our doctorate in veterinary medicine in May 2023. My areas of special interest include dermatology, anesthesia, dentistry and preventive medicine.

In late 2024, our dream became a reality, and we opened La Petite Clinique, we also had the opportunity to meet Doctor Ossona early during the conception of the clinic. Her passion for our profession, expertise, values and positivity made it obvious to us that it would be a privilege to work alongside her.

Providing the best care for our patients and their owners in a caring and stress-free environment is my number one priority. I have immense gratitude for my job, it brings me so much joy which I hope will come across if I have the honor of taking care of your pets.

George Markopoulos

I was born and raised in Guatemala until the age of 18, at which point I moved to northern California to further my education. My studies began in community college and then were completed at the University of California, Davis in the form of an animal science bachelor’s degree. I met Lara towards the end of our studies in Davis and decided to apply to veterinary school together. In 2019, we moved to Arizona to attend Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine. Our clinical year began in March of 2022 and concluded with our graduation in May of 2023. Since our decision to pursue veterinary medicine together, we have had the plan of coming to Monaco to open a clinic as a team. My areas of interest include preventive medicine, soft tissue surgery and dentistry. My hope is to provide the best service I can to improve and maintain your beloved pet's health and to strengthen the wonderful bond between you and your companion.
Clinic Manager

Pascale Cazals

I am originally from the southwest of France, and as far as I can remember, I have always had a real passion and love for all animals. My professional background has allowed me to collaborate with different companies in the veterinary sector.
For years I was at the heart of teams in clinics, purchasing centers, laboratories, animal protection associations and communication companies; all dedicated to animal health and welfare. Understanding and supporting on a daily basis the teams that have at heart animal health, their well-being and also, the sensitivity that unites us all, in these deep connections that pet owners can have.
I have a positive and dynamic temperament, I am rigorous and organized. I like cohesion in a group and teamwork "Alone we are nothing, together we can do anything" It is therefore naturally and with great pleasure that I joined the team of "La Petite Clinique Vétérinaire".
My mission is to be the right arm of the team, the manager and management. Assist the professionals by ensuring the coordination of teams and the administrative management of the structure. My inspiration is to remember that collaboration is a source of strength, efficiency and success. It encourages to value team spirit and seek synergy to achieve common goals.

Veterinary Assistant

Mathilde Lobbedez

Since being little, I have always had passion for and love towards animals, I decided to make it my profession, I have been a veterinary assistant since 2019. I’ve worked in multiple small clinics which were wonderful learning experiences and then worked at VET24 for two years, a large veterinary center located at Marcq en Baroeul in the Hauts de France.
I have always dreamt of living in the South of France and my dream is coming true by finding this job in Monaco. I am eager to learn and grow and will be happy to welcome you at La Petite Clinique with cheer and energy.

As advocates for your pet’s emotional well-being, we do not believe in getting the job done by any means necessary, we want your pet’s experience with us to be positive.

While this might seem like a big ask on our end, we genuinely believe that a thoughtful fear free approach can lead to a better appointment outcome thereby improving subsequent visits.
