About Us

How We Practice

Our clinic is a labor of love and we hope it shows! This hospital was designed to create a safe space for our patients where they can feel comfortable.

While veterinary visits can be a stressful experience for a lot of pets, there are many ways we try to minimize fear:

Longer appointment times Judicious use of anxiolytics No dog/cat interactions Carrier training for cats Non-slip surfaces and yoga mats Placing pheromone diffusers Minimizing reflective surfaces Reading our patient’s body language Recognizing subtle signs of fear Lots of treats! Muzzle training for dogs Avoiding direct eye contact Prioritizing what needs to be done

Lara Janowski Petite Clinique Monaco
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Lara Janowski

I was born in Monaco and left when I was 17 to pursue the first half of my studies at the University of California, Davis where I majored in Animal Sciences. I met George at Davis, and we decided to apply to veterinary schools together, we chose Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine as the next step in our journey. We graduated as Doctors of Veterinary Medicine in May 2023 and decided to return to Monaco to open a veterinary clinic together! My areas of special interest include dermatology, anesthesia, dentistry and preventive medicine.

In late 2024, our dream became a reality, and we opened La Petite Clinique, we also had the opportunity to meet Doctor Ossona early during the conception of the clinic. Her passion for our profession, expertise, values and positivity made it obvious to us that it would be a privilege to work alongside her.

Providing the best care for our patients and their owners in a caring and stress-free environment is my number one priority. I have immense gratitude for my job, it brings me so much joy which I hope will come across if I have the honor of taking care of your pets.

George Markopoulos

I was born and raised in Guatemala until the age of 18, at which point I moved to northern California to further my education. My studies began in community college and then were completed at the University of California, Davis in the form of an animal science bachelor’s degree. I met Lara towards the end of our studies in Davis and decided to apply to veterinary school together. In 2019, we moved to Arizona to attend Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine. Our clinical year began in March of 2022 and concluded with our graduation in May of 2023. Since our decision to pursue veterinary medicine together, we have had the plan of coming to Monaco to open a clinic as a team. My areas of interest include preventive medicine, soft tissue surgery and dentistry. My hope is to provide the best service I can to improve and maintain your beloved pet's health and to strengthen the wonderful bond between you and your companion.
Celia petite Clinique MOnaco
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Célia Ossona-Mondon

Born in Nice and having always been passionate about the well-being of our four-legged companions from a young age, I naturally oriented myself towards a career in veterinary medicine. Once I graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from l’Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse and the Faculté Médecine de Toulouse Rangueil in 1998, I instinctively focused my attention on small animal veterinary medicine.

As the years went by, I acquired a wealth of experience working in a variety of veterinary establishments throughout France. My journey finally brought me to Nice, where I managed my own veterinary clinic in association for 18 years. I obtained my CES in clinical veterinary hematology and biochemistry along the way.

When the moment came to sell my clinic, I had the opportunity to meet Lara and George. Their competence, educational background and motivation profoundly impressed me, and it was with renewed enthusiasm that I joined their team.

My areas of special interest are internal medicine and preventative medicine, oncology, and feline medicine. I am convinced that the true well-being of our pets resides in well-informed prevention rather than delayed intervention, it is with devotion and passion that I commit myself to dedicating my expertise to our patients.

Mathilde Petite Clinique Monaco
Veterinary Assistant

Mathilde Lobbedez

Since being little, I have always had passion for and love towards animals, I decided to make it my profession, I have been a veterinary assistant since 2019. I’ve worked in multiple small clinics which were wonderful learning experiences and then worked at VET24 for two years, a large veterinary center located at Marcq en Baroeul in the Hauts de France.
I have always dreamt of living in the South of France and my dream is coming true by finding this job in Monaco. I am eager to learn and grow and will be happy to welcome you at La Petite Clinique with cheer and energy.

As advocates for your pet’s emotional well-being, we do not believe in getting the job done by any means necessary, we want your pet’s experience with us to be positive.

While this might seem like a big ask on our end, we genuinely believe that a thoughtful fear free approach can lead to a better appointment outcome thereby improving subsequent visits.
